Offered is an uncommon item for the specialist crinoid collector;a piece of bioclastic limestone matrix approx. 5.5cm X 4cm X 2cm from the Middle Silurian, Lower Wenlock Series; Hogklint Formation of Kuste, Gotland, Sweden, preserving a 4cm diameter calyx of
Sagenocrinus expansus
(Phillips, 1839)
This calyx appears to be essentially complete with the pentagonal plates intact; further preparation with modern air tools is possible. For added interest there is a 3cm crinoid stem on the matrix too............
NO reserve for such a scarse and displayable Swedish crinoid............
