This is the exhibitor's campaign book, also known as a pressbook, for Walt Disney's 98 minute Technicolor science fiction satirical comedy released in 1962 by Buena Vista Distribution. Based on Robert Buckner's
1960 novel
Starfire
, it was directed by James Neilson
and reflects Disney's interest in America's early space program under the John F. Kennedy era. It stars Tommy Kirk, Edmund O'Brien, Dany Saval and Tom Tryon.
The pressbook is fully illustrated throughout in black-and-white. There are 5 pages of pictures, stories and news releases related to the film, its story and production, and stars; 16 pages of ready-to-use advertisements for theaters to place in newspapers and magazines (none have been cut out) including pages on exploitation and promotional opportunities, vista record promotions, large 6 ft. cut outs and trailers for theaters and radio promotions. Posters and lobby cards available to theaters are shown on the back cover.
There is light handling, 1.5” cover separations at spine top and bottom from stacking & age. No writing or cut outs. Excellent color on front cover. FINE condition.
