Description
Offered here is an uncommon Lyriocrinus melissa crinoid cup from the Waldron Shale Formation from Shelby County, Indiana, Silurian in age. The crinoid cup measures 1 1/4” wode and has stunning detail. The matrix measures 3 1/4” x 2 1/8”. There is also a beautifully pyritized brachiopod on the matrix. This crinoid and other fossils are getting harder to find due to collecting localities banning fossil hunting or only allowing field trips a few times a year. This piece was found 10 years ago and just recently prepared. If you have purchased multiple items, please do not send payment until I send an invoice.
