Offered here is a beautifully prepared, highly detailed, and exceedingly rare Pentaramicrinus bimagnaramus crinoid with stem from the Big Clifty Formation from Crawford County, Indiana, Mississippian in age. The crinoid crown measures 1” long and 1 3/4” of stem and has outstanding detail. Also on the plate are 4 Pentremites girtyi blastoids; 2 preserved with stem and brachioles. They measure about 3/8” long and with brachioles about 5/8” long. Also on the matrix is a disarticulated Pterotocrinus rugosus crinoid. This is a rare combination piece, second rarest I have owned. The matrix measures 7” x 3 1/4”. As you can see from the pictures, the crinoids and blastoids have great detail and the light calcite contrasts beautifully against the soft gray matrix. This beautiful piece was found about 30 years ago when the highway department was building I-64 between Cincinnati and Evansville.
