Offered here is an ultra rare, beautifully prepared, highly detailed Pentremites girtyi blastoid with brachioles and stem from the Big Clifty Formation from Crawford County, Indiana, Mississippian in age. The blastoid measures

” long with brachioles and has outstanding detail. The stem measures 1 1/

” long. The matrix measures

”. As you can see from the pictures, the blastoid has great detail and the light calcite contrasts perfectly against the gray limestone matrix. T
he brachioles are found at the bottom where the blastoid meets the matrix. There are also a couple blastoids on the back side.
This beautiful piece was found about 30 years ago when the highway department was building I-64 between Cincinnati and Evansville.
