blastoids from the Big Clifty Formation from Crawford County, Indiana, Mississippian in age. The blastoid multiple
on the left has 4 blastoids on it measuring 1 3/8” long, 3/4” long, 1/2” long, and a baby one found at the base of the largest one. Matrix measures 2 3/4” x 2 3/4”. The blastoid on the right measures 5
/8” long and has outstanding detail. The matrix measures
2 1/2
” x
2
1/4”. As you can see from the pictures, the blastoid has great detail and the light calcite contrasts perfectly against the gray limestone matrix. Th
