CRINOID FOSSILS GEM MUSEUM-QUALITY MASS MORTALITY CLUSTER IN MATRIX. JIMBACRINUS BOSTOKI FROM THE PERMIAN NORTHWEST BASIN OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA. Beautifully prepared display of multiple crinoids, containing heads stems and feet.
Crinoid heads are extremely rare and are particularly difficult to find in a comparable gem quality condition.
Delicately and artistically excavated from the matrix, the crinoids are nearly fully emerged and present as truly three-dimensional.
The matrix is a full 10 inches long and five inches wide-- AND TWO AND A HALF INCHES THICK-- with crinoids, almost life-like, emerging nearly completely from the matrix-- up to a full two inches !
Purchased at auction in the 1980s, along with several other fossils, and stored in our warehouse ever since, this casting is still in virtually the same condition.
