All Natural Silurian Crinoid, Scyphocrinites, Erfoud, Morocco #2

Description

This is a well-preserved
Syphocrinites cf. elegans,
from the Silurian, near Erfoud in Morocco. The crinoid is a dark blackish-grey lying in its original matrix containing fragments of numerous crinoid stems. The entire plate, matrix and crinoid is approx. 6.0 inches high, 4.0 inches wide at its widest and 0.75 inches thick. The matrix has been stabilized with a penetrant as the mud in which the crinoids are found , dries out and cracks. Penetrant prevents this from happening.
All of my specimens are guaranteed authentic and have been legally obtained.
